The Dallas area (north central Texas). I hunt all over the state and also hunt in Arkansas. I grew up hunting in Minnesota so the experience down south has been very interesting.

First time "post" Not certain this 'ol boy knows how to "use" this site; certainly NOT the proper location to ask this question, but......... I'm going to buy a cross bow within the next couple of weeks. This reverse limb technology is the way to go or ...... not??? Would like to spend no more that $1,000 to $1,200 for all the 'stuff I need to start on this venture and try to shoot a whitetail in the Black Hills of SD. Reverse the way to go... keep it simple with the recurve-type cross bows/less problems or........? Barnett, Mission, Excalibur, Ten Point or........???

Hi Schnitz and welcome to Talkin Tenpoint forum.
Here is my 2 cents on you question.
I have owned several crossbows and my first one was not a Tenpoint. Buy a Tenpoint!!
As far as reverse draw compared to front end crossbows, they are both nice. I own two reverse draw crossbows, Horton Innovations Storm RDX and the Tenpoint Carbon Nitro RDX. I also own a front end crossbow, Tenpoint Stealth SS. My favorite of them is the Tenpoint Carbon Nitro. If you want to stay within your price range, I would seriously consider the Horton Storm RDX. They are made by Tenpoint and they are a real shooter, well made and Tenpoint's customer service is the Tops.
The reverse draw crossbows are more compact, great balance and shoot awesome. Don't get me wrong, my Stealth SS is a shooter too, but I like the even balance of the RDX bows a little better.
Good luck and join us on Crossbow Nation.
